The first thing that comes to mind for this couple is...FUN! Christine and Tim had a big bridal party- and they were all ready for a good time. I met the ladies at Christine's wonderful aunt's home, who kindly helped orient us to the day. The bridesmaids were hilarious, and the flower girl was one of the cutest I have seen!

Next we headed over to Tim's aunt's home- a big family with a whole lot of hospitality. We felt so welcome everywhere we went. The guys were well on their way to having an epic day and great sports about taking lots of photos.

St. Ann Church was...stunning. Huge, cathedral like, with stunning stained glass windows. The ceremony was beautiful and very touching, honoring lost heroes and the freedom and safety that we have because of them.

When we left the church we were met with an incredibly intense sky...dark and light clouds mixing together...I checked my phone and saw "Tornado Watch in Dorchester"...oh boy...we were on our way to take formal shots at Pope John's park! Tim jumped into action, getting everyone efficiently on their way to try to beat the storm. Tim is a Marine, and spends much of his time on boats, often watching the sky. He knew we might be caught in a downpour, and carefully tracked it for the next hour. When we got to the park we rushed down to the bank to take photos as efficiently as possible, lightning in the distance, wind gusting intensely. You might think this was a recipe for disaster, but everyone had excellent attitudes and a whole lot of good luck. The storm JUST missed us, and we managed to only get touched by a few drops of rain. The storm cleared right in time for a beautiful sunset, which we enjoyed in the quiet moments before the upcoming reception.

The reception took place in Florian Hall, a hall with a huge dance floor, stage, and excellent food. Christine and Tim enjoyed their first dance, father-mother dance, daughter-mother dance, and a special anniversary dance. After the cake was cut, the main lights dimmed and the party lights came on- cousins, friends, and family members enthusiastically made their way to the dance floor. The night ended just as is should have for this beautiful, fun couple- good music, fun dancers, and smiles all around.

Christy & Brandon's Wedding Session

The newlyweds Christy & Brandon Beamer and I headed into the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain in search of some quiet romantic settings. We got our wish, and had a lot of fun while we were at it! I loved being a part of their engagement, Jack & Jill shower, and wedding. They are one of the most kind, caring, loving couples I know and are surrounded by incredible friends and family. Here's to you!

Amanda & Drew's Boston Engagement Session: Beacon Hill & The Esplanade

On a lovely Monday evening in August, I met Amanda Kennedy and Drew McDonald on Charles Street in Boston. The weather was absolutely prefect- low 80s, beautiful fluffy clouds with moments of bright sun right when we needed it. We explored the cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill and found lots of wonderful nooks! Amanda and Drew love visiting that area together, admiring the brick and colorful buildings.

We also walked through the Boston Commons Garden, jumping from one magnificent  willow to the next, one of their favorite kinds of tree!

Next, Amanda showed me something new- a beautiful memorial for Boston Firemen, including her Grandfather. We spent some quiet moments there and I could tell it was a meaningful place for her.

We found too many great photo spots along the way back to the car, going 20 minutes past their meter time- but Amanda assured us that we did not have to worry because, "Drew is ridiculously lucky." Never in my Boston days have I ran out of meter time and not gotten a ticket, but she was right- ridiculously lucky- no ticket! It was incredible. As soon as we got back and they went to change outfits, Crista and I saw the meter man 3 cars down!

Our final stop was a sunset walk along the beautiful Esplanade. We hit it just right for the "golden hour," and as you can see the light was just incredible. We got bench shots, and water shots, and bridge shots, and ended right in time for a beautiful sunset photo.

Amanda was right, Drew is a lucky guy. But what she left out is that they're both lucky- the love and comfort they have between them is easy to see. I am so excited to witness their wedding and take more photos of them along with their family and friends next August at the Willowdale Estate in Topsfield Massachusetts (one of my favorite locations)!

Supermoon Rising Over Somerville MA (& Boston Skyline)

I ventured to the Somerville Castle last night to watch the supermoon rise over the Boston Skyline. I had such a nice time, especially since I met a bunch of other fellow lovers of "looking out." The supermoon was shy at first, but went through a series of beautiful colors...it was truly lovely!
